The Necessity of Creating Leaders

Many small and medium businesses struggle to stand the test of time, and experience stunted growth potential for one key reason: They have only one leader. An entire organization looks to one figurehead for everything. Owners often make too many everyday decisions, create all new processes, manage projects, clients, and staff members, etc. By doing so, these leaders are creating huge problems for the future of their organizations by bearing all of the responsibility on their own.

Sound familiar? Don’t worry. It’s not too late to start fixing the problem and future-proof your business. Start here!

    • 1.

Understand Your People.

    •  There are many resources available to help identify specifics about your team’s personality profile and identify their strengths and weaknesses. These can be invaluable when identifying leadership potential in your team. Once you have a newly realized grasp on your team member’s unique abilities and potential, placing them in roles that will make them most successful will reflect in the success of your business.

2. Learn how to teach. There are 4 stages of learning. Organize your recurring tasks and processes, then begin to train your team on how to execute them properly. Once you’ve both completed the cycle of learning, pass the responsibility to that team member.
*Take it a step further: Create documentation for reference that will enhance your team’s ability to be independent when questions arise, which in turn will free up even more of your time.

STOP

3. Inspire your Team and Improve Relationships. Whether you develop and sell a product or provide a service, people know WHAT they’re doing. WHY you do what you do is an entirely different concept. If your team doesn’t understand the WHY, then your clients don’t either. When your clients understand WHY you do what you do, and then see that supported with proof in WHAT you produce, they trust you, and you become more valuable to them than ever before. From here, you have employees who begin having better, deeper conversations with clients that lead to more profound results. The best part is, you get to sit back and enjoy the fruits of your labor.

At AZBS, we practice these concepts on a daily basis. These are not theories; these are proven processes that show real results.
